Can PurNet help our surgical hospital with the new federal regulations (EMR conversions)?
YES! We understand that your center will be investing a lot of time getting ready for implementing the new federal regulations. So, we can help your center with the materials management portion of the conversion. We can take the inventory data from the old system and perform a data cleansing to ensure that product information is updated and accurate. We will then send the information back to you in a format that can be easily updated into the new system. This ensures that you have accurate data in the EMR system for product information and reporting. It also saves your staff time and frustration.
We can also perform quarterly audits on behalf of your center to ensure that the data in the new system remains accurate. It is also a great way to ensure that your center is being charged the correct price on the products that you are purchasing. If incorrect prices are being charges to your center, we can contact the vendors and ensure that the price is corrected and a refund is credited back to your center (if applicable).

Do I get contract pricing because I belong to a GPO?
Unfortunately, just because you belong to a GPO does not mean that you are getting contract pricing on the products that you are purchasing. Here are some reasons as to why your center may not be receiving contract pricing:
- Most products are priced in tiers that are based on the facilities dollar volume levels of that particular product. The higher the dollar volume spent on a product allows a center to reach a higher tier and therefore lower price. Unfortunately, most facilities are not able to obtain better pricing because their dollar volume spent does not meet the qualifications to get to a higher tier.
- Or ... a center is not getting contract prices because the letter of commitment (LOC) is not signed or gets dropped during the contract connection process. If the LOC does not get signed or is dropped during the connection process the center does not get connected to the contracted price for the products that they are eligible for.
- Or ... if the contract does get loaded for the center, the contract gets loaded at the incorrect contract price. This leads to the center getting overcharged on their contracted products.
- Or ... the facility is connected to 5 different GPO's and are confused as to what contract pricing they are eligible for and from what GPO they are connected to.
The Solution: PURNET!
PurNet reviews your total spend on the products that you purchase and will sign your center up on the correct LOC and at the correct tier level. PurNet also has a tier aggregation program where manufacturers and vendors view PurNet as a system. Due to this, PurNet is able to compile its inventory numbers from all of its members to reach higher tier pricing. So, even though as a stand-alone center you would only be able to reach tier 1 pricing on a product, because of PurNet’s Tier Aggregation Program you are eligible to receive a higher tier price.

If I partner with PurNet, will I have product line choices?
Yes! PurNet will review all product lines that a center uses and will make recommendations based on contract compliance. These are just recommendations and are not mandated. If a center is interested in the product and wants to learn more, PurNet will line up samples for review and evaluation.
